Barbara Haines Howett has been a journalist with the Atlantic City Press, co-editor of the Brigantine Beachcomber, and freelance writer for numerous suburban papers. She was associate editor of Sales Meeting Magazine, Where Magazine, and Main Line Magazine. She held administrative positions in hospital public relations, and her own public relations consulting business.

She has traveled around the world five times, and lived in Indonesia, Singapore, Nigeria, England, and Canada. As a mature student, she received a Master's Degree in Creative Writing from Antioch University's foreign program in London, England. She now writes full time, and has recently completed a novel entitled Ladies of the Borabudur. She also teaches short story and novel writing at Northampton Community College in Pennsylvania.
